Personally , I like both but I pick Asuma U_U But even Jiraiya is epic too .

WTF is up with people picking Asuma??

Before the Hidan and Kakuzu arc we had barely seen the guy more than once.

Sry to say it, but he was an insignificant character and his death was only a way to develop Shikamaru and Chouji. I wouldn't really say that he's a bad character, but he had too little panel time to really be of any importance if you ask me.

Jiraya on the other hand is one of the major characters, Naruto's mentor and a pretty awesome character.

Don't get me wrong he's not even in my top 10 favorites, and he has his flaws. But you gotta admit the guy is pretty awesome right??

Not really, Jiraiya was Naruto's last family member he had in a sense, and Jiraiya completely avoided him his entire childhood.
