Why?

The biggest asspull for me would be Minato's sage mode or Itachi's Izanami.
It was predicted by shit load of people and the very fact that it was predicted by fans proves that it was hinted by author which means that it wasn't an asspull.I don't get how one can label something as an assppull even when it was predictable.Same goes for Izanami as it was hinted via Izanagi. If anything it is Izanagi which should be considered as an asspull.

Yata and Totsuka never was cleared like that that is why it is an asspull .
The story is progressing...
Just wait until we get backstory on them...
I remember people calling Sasuke's hawk summon 'asspull' and a one-time only technique, which Kishi had forgotten after his fight with Danzo... and then we saw him summon that same hawk again in the recent arc.
We will get more info on those weapons, just wait.

By your logic, Hagoromo's sword is an asspull, Susano'o is an asspull, Rinne Tensei is an asspull, Reaper Death Seal is an Asspull, and Mangekyo Sharingan is an asspull

I understand what you're getting at, somebody using a jutsu we've never seen before doesn't necessarily make it an asspull, really it's just raising the stakes. However...

"An Ass Pull is a moment when the writers pull something out of thin air in a less-than-graceful narrative development, violating the Law of Conservation of Detail by dropping a plot-critical detail in the middle, or near the end of their narrative without Foreshadowing or dropping a Chekhov's Gun earlier on.

In cases where a character suddenly gets a new skill without explanation, it's usually explained away as a Chekhov's Classroom or Chekhov's Skill, except the audience never saw the character attending the lecture in question, or any prior examples of him or her using, or even training that skill.

An Ass Pull used to resolve an unwinnable situation for the protagonists is a Deus ex Machina. An Ass Pull used in the same way for the villains is a Diabolus ex Machina. An Ass Pull doesn't necessarily have to resolve or derail a situation, though; many times, an Ass Pull is just used without any greater plot implication. Please limit examples on this page to ones that don't fit in either of the other two.

The term is also used to describe something that the characters make up on the spot. See also Shocking Swerve and Writing by the Seat of Your Pants. Given certain examples, Wing Pull could fit into this as well. Sometimes called Sulu's Foil, since it's the opposite of Chekhov's Gun. In Russia, it's called "grand piano in the bushes". Pulling a useful object out of seemingly nowhere is related to Hammerspace.

As this trope frequently concerns plot twists, there are unmarked spoilers below. "

Itachi's Yata Mirro and Totsuka Blade is one of the biggest asspulls ever .
If you know the real world mythology surrounding the names and powers of the three MS techniques as well as Orochimaru's name and technique and the three emperial regalia items of Japan, which the Japanese audience likely did, they are all foreshadowed.

Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu and Susano'o are Izanagi the creator's three children all born at once from him and are chief Kami of the shinto religion. The sun, moon and storm gods.

The Totsuka Blade is the sword used by the god Susano'o to slay the eight-headed and eight-tailed snake, Yamata no Orochi, just as it was used by Itachi's Susanoo to defeat Orochimaru's Eight Branches Technique.

The Yata no Kagami (Literally meaning "Eight Span Mirror") is one of the Three Imperial Regalia of Japan, together with the Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Literally meaning "Grass Cutter Sword") and the Yasakani no Magatama (Literally meaning "Eight Shaku Curved Jewel").

Izanami was foreshadowed by Izanagi's presence and use in the manga since she is Izanagi's wife and sister with the same powers and SM Minato was foreshadowed because he was a genius, Jiraiya's pupil, the forth Hokage and a toad summoner. For me, he didn't even require an explanation.

I've predicted for some time that the totsuka blade and yata mirror were both forged by either Hagoromo's brother or the uchiha clan, much the same as the Reaper Death Seal was as they are both sealing weapons and one bears the Uzumaki symbol.

Minato's sage mode isn't an ass pull,it is explained and already foreshadowed

Idk man you tell me , when Minato showed SM everyone were crying how that is an asspull so you tell me why the standard for Itachi must be different ?
Good question
