nice work =] could do with the render being a little bigger and maybe a little bit of blending on the smudge so it doesnt stand out so badly but thats just imo. Text is better and great work =D

Try adding a gausian blur to the smudge layer try playing around with different blur settings on the smudge until you get it looking how you like. Cant really tell you any specific methods as there are too many too list and i cant remember them all without doing them, which i cant without photoshop xD
