1-this is my fan fiction entitled assassination of 4th hokage. Each thread has a mission log that works as a way to understand the thoughts of the main character kiri, and has the chapter that is the interaction with other people, fights and other stuff.
In terms of timeline the mission log is always set after the chapter itself…

“is anything wrong with mizukage-sama? I don’t now…his actions are normal to me yet Ao is right, killing a kage is not an usual mission. the journey to the land of fire will be hard…I don’t wanna call any attention to myself im gonna dress as a merchant, unnecessary conflicts with other ninja aren’t needed.at least ive got this journal to keep me entertained…”
2.2-chapter 3
kiri is about to leave the boundaries of kirigakure and then he is stopped by a masked anbu ninja…
anbu ninja: where are you heading kiri?
Kiri: who wants to now?
anbu ninja :me!(the ninja takes the mask of and turns out to be kiri’s former team member Ao)
Kiri: Ao?
Ao :Yes!
Kiri: how did you find me? I’m going on a secret mission to kill the 4th hokage…
Ao: byakugan!if it’s secret you can’t tell! Anyway…why does Mizukage-sama wants you to kill the hokage?
Kiri: I… can’t remember… (stuttering)
Ao: Young people are getting dumb!
Kiri: I have it written on my mission log… (saying like an excuse for forgetting it)
Ao: that’s weird!(thinking)
Kiri: Me forgetting things?
Ao: You forgetting? that’s usual…ordering to kill another kage not so usual…
Kiri: why?
Ao: it can cause war, destroy our village…cant you tell? Ill investigate mizukage-sama’s reasons…good luck on your mission, and try to keep yourself alive ok? keep me on the loop for the progress ok?
Kiri: why?...
Ao: stop with the whys and go… il catch you up in a few days ok?
Kiri: ok!! See ya
Kiri leaves the boundaries of kirigakure and wile Ao talks to himself.
Ao: mizukagesama’s actions wore weird… ill try to investigate, something might be wrong…
