Backstory:
Ashura initially born into a lost faction of the famed Senju Clan he arrives into the hidden leaf at the age of 2. With his parents dead and being part hyuga he was taken in by the famed Hyuga clan under the direct orders of clan elder Hinabi Hyuga. Ashura showed promise for a hyuga. Being half hyuga he was usually left out of things because he was different from the rest of clan. As he grew up though he excelled at the gentle fist showing more promise then The legendary hyuga Neji. At the age of 6 he started to attend the ninja academy and he graduated at the age of 8 with a few other geniuses in the making Kira Uchiha of the famed Uchiha clan and very special girl Chiyoko Uzumaki who excelled in medical ninjutsu. During the chunin exams Ashura was ultimately defeated by Kira uchiha. These 3 were on a 3 man squad under the tutelage of the 8th Hokage Konohamaru Sarutobi.
Teaching his students numerous techniques that differ for each one.
All 3 ninja get promoted to chunin at age 9 with Kira becoming a jonin at the age of 10 showing true promise. Under the orders of Kira on a mission he leads the 3 into a trap set by the hidden sound village this because of the ambush chiyoko becomes unconscious for awhile. After saving chiyoko they bring back to village when she turns out to be in a severe coma. Being a love interest of ashura he becomes depressed but still trains so Kira won't surpass to much
Eventually Kira defects from the village with ashura following him to bring him back having their own fight with Kira on top
With this happening ashura decides to give up on Kira thinking he will never change and he won't accept a traitor
Advancing his wood style to his great extents and his other Jutsu chiyoko later dies with her eyes preserved.
Over the years Kira and Ashura have been through many battles to near death situations with ashura eventually surpassing Kira. When Kira finally realizes he has been he takes plans to blind ashura taking away his combination of fighting the FTG+gentle fist. Kira outsmarting ashura blinds him leaving him bloody on the ground simply implying he can't be beat. Revealing his own ms.
After this fight, ashura seems hopeless to stop his friend he visits chiyoko graves thinking of her preserved eyes.
Allowing this the very old Sakura does the operation of transferring the eyes of chiyoko to ashura. after the operation was complete ashura was shown to be to change his eyes back (because he had his own dojutsu) awakening his own ms as well. Chiyoko truly proving her namesake.
The next time Kira and Ashura meet several months later the fight is more on par Kira exhausted eventually activates his rinnegan without either shinobi knowing quickly defeating ashura without knowing what happened ashura collapsing and Kira stealing his hyuga DNA. Kira having knowledge of the sage and their past he planned to gain the power a kaguya and gain the bloodlines of the 5 main clans. The senju uchiha uzumaki hyuga and the kaguya clan.
With DNA saved by kabuto and orochimaru from kimimaro Kira eliminates them with ease using the power of the ms gaining the Kekkei genkai of the kaguya clan. Having all 5 bloodlines and his own test subjects he works to perfect it to turn himself into one.
In ashura's case his hyuga blood eventually forms with sharingan creating a new dojutsu
With their new powers Ashura leaves the hidden leaf village in search for Kira .
