Kakuzu stands around tanking any hits and then uses the Fire or Lightning Mask to end things.

He could just stand there without attacking until Nagato runs out of energy.

Okay but choji could barely rocket fire from the ashura path and jiraya got blizes by him so could kakuzu tag someone on that level?

Jiraiya was blindsided and ambushed . . .

The fact that Choji, CHOJI AKIMICHI, could momentarily run from his MISSILE PROJECTILE should tell plenty. Kakashi managing to even stand in the same field as Machine Path is another example that should put it below Kakuzu.

He doesn't have to, though. He could just tank, outlast and finish it off.

The same kakashi who killed kakuzu had to use a lightning clone vs the asura path, I think that says enough

The fact choji ran away from the missile proves that kakuzu is weaker as he was confidant in fist fighting kakuzu unlike the asura path

lol, I don't think posting a gif of Choji getting absolutely casually wrecked by Kakuzu is evidence for Choji being on Kakuzu's level.

Kakuzu could tank swipes from the fully transformed 2-Tail Jinchuriki.

Even if the Asura Path has the damage output to actually hurt him, it's very unlikely he can do it while *also* dealing with Kakuzu's 5vs1 strategy. The Paths of Pain are powerful as a group, but individually they all get outclassed by the rest of the Atatsuki (well, minus Hidan of course). The only notable one is the Deva Path due to the power of Chibaku & Shinra Tensei.

To put it another way - Kakuzu would have beat Kakashi 1v1 who would have beat Asura Path 1v1.

Kakuzu > Kakashi > Asura Path

It's not but the fact, He didt cower like he did versus the ashura path shows that one was vastly above him while the other was weak enough to where choji could confidently take him

Kakuzu > Kakashi > Asura Path

kakuzu got negged by kakashi what do you mean?

Choji's mistaken opinion on who he thinks he can and cannot fight are irrelevant.
Especially when he's proven wrong like you so kindly pointed out with your gif.

Choji ran from the Asura Path because it was shooting a missile at him. He hid from Kakuzu's AoE as well.
Not to mention the context of this being in the middle of Pain vs Konoha and Pain taking on Kakashi & his father.

If you're just going to post random gifs and images without understanding the context behind them this is kind of a pointless argument. That was literally Kakashi's first attack on Kakuzu when he snuck up on him. Most of the fight takes place *after* that moment when Kakuzu releases his masks to act independently. Later on in the fight, Kakashi is unable to completely counter Kakuzu's combination attack and Kakuzu also gets a hold of him at the same time. Kakashi only escaped because of Shikimaru's trick with Hidan taking out another heart and that *still* didn't completely stop Kakuzu because he still had more hearts.

Kakashi is a good fighter, but he's not taking out all 5 of Kakuzu's hearts in a 1 on 1.
Especially when in another encounter Kakuzu would have all 5 of his hearts ready to go, rather than starting at a disadvantage.

But choji has seen kakuzu fight kakashi at that point, He surely would know what range of power kakuzu has at that point

Choji ran from the Asura Path because it was shooting a missile at him. He hid from Kakuzu's AoE as well.

Can you show that?

Indeed and it shows that kakashi can neg kakuzu with one raikiri which didt happen with the ashura as he survived and then later on proceeded to fire a missile at choji as mentioned before
The fact the ashura path survived a attack that literally killed kakuzu proves that he has higher amounts of durability then him

Using stealth for a blindside attack is not a measure of physical stats. Especially when said action was done while a handful of other allies were distracting Kakuzu.

In your own gif, Choji gets outboxed and punted.

Missiles are also a known threat, unlike some dude you have never met before.

The path of pain not sage of six paths naruto

I think Kakuzu wins tbh.

Elemental Blasts should bypass Asura's steel body (like Raikiri acclimated), and progressively incapacitate him. It's a CQC Speed Demon, for sure, but I think that the fact that the former could CQC Exchange with equality against Kakashi, implicates that he could replicate or even exceed that performance against a comparatively slower speedster like Asura.

Mid difference I'd say.
