What happened to that Shinigami that Rukia met in Hueco Mundo in the Forest of Death? The one that has been fighting Hollow alone for hundreds of years? Did they just leave him? Or did Kubo Tite decide to ditch him from the whole storyline? lol.. poor guy..

He got blocked by some rocks falling down while fleeing with Rukia, ... out of the forest, because he protected them from attacking hollows (They were on way to Las Noches). Rukia swore to come back somewhen and save him.

0_o if its in the anime, its no necessarily in the manga. so its possible that that particular shinigami never actually existed in the manga and thus wouldn't be brought back unless Kubo brings him back in the fillers

Yeah, what Rag and Caliburn said. Ashido was just a filler character and has no big effect on the series. At least not manga wise. It will probably be some filler arc. If not, he probably got killed in that forest of menos.
