Sasuke didn't ask for permission to go anywhere, he "told" Naruto what he was gonna do and where/why he was leaving too. Sasuke correctly stated that only he had the power to follow any trace of Kaguya using his ocular abilities. Try harder!

But more than that Sarada's well being and questions of validity took precedence in the overall polt, making Sasukes actual objective (relaying information sensitive to the threat of something worse than Kaguya) but guess what? In the up coming movie, both Naruto and Sasuke face that something and that solidifies his original mission.
