Hello, fellow (potential) artists!

We had to discontinue the Art of the Month contest due to limited (or sometimes no) submissions, and it has been almost four years since then.
Anyway, due to the recent surge (well, sort of) in activity due to the attempts to revive the forum, I thought I'd do a pulse check here as well, see who might be interested in participating, and if any of you guys have some ideas or thoughts on how we could proceed forward (if we have enough interested parties)
If you're an artist or were one, what could incentivize you to participate again, for example? Please let me know if you guys would like us to bring this back. Looking forward to your response.

Also we can make chains of drawings and descriptions where we start from a picture, someone describes it, the next receives just the description and draws from it, the next describes that drawing and so on until the last one who's drawing, and the reveal is always fun.
That's part art and part game and it's nice if we can gather enough people to participate.

Also, I only do hand drawings at the moment so hopefully they will suffice. I'm not the best but I definitely don't think I am bad. Realistically if you hosted one with good prizes outside of the RP, I'll participate for the sake of reviving the base and just participating in the community a little bit.

If we are getting the art contest back on then let us start with something easy, provide a lineart and challenge everyone to get creative with the coloring, shading and fx.
Having contestants draw from scratch should come later on. Also look into the bubble dialogue contest (not sure if that is the correct name), that was also fun

Lineart coloring is actually allowed, so anyone who wants to go down that route is free to do so. As for the bubble dialogue contest, I don't currently manage that, but if enough people are interested, then I suppose it can be revived as well.

Thank you Elmage for bringing up the topic of art contests! As somebody who hasn't drawn with intent yet, an intrusive thought just crossed my mind of simply submitting a funny drawing rather than showcasing actual drawing skills.

The art contest has been more about skill, and I totally respect that since it’s always awesome to see what talented artists can do. But maybe there could also be a separate/alternate contest for humorous art, “home-made” memes, or collages (like stuff made on Canva, for example). I feel like that might encourage more people to join in.

It kind of reminds me of that manga panel contest we had, where we’d come up with funny dialogue, but this could be more of a freeform version.

Not sure what I'm looking for, but just wanted to write that out there so other members can expand on this.
