Armor vs Jacket

So in the past shinobi fought in these epic armors, like Tobirama and Madz have. Currently shinobi fight in vests and jackets.
Now I want to know whose brillains idea it was to provide less protection to the shinobi on the battlefield AND reduce their cool points. That guy should be fired

Its lightweight and still provides protection .. Besides, theyre ninjas not samurai

Armor was so much better but i guess fighting in a jacket and a west gives more flexibility.

Like Bijuu13 said above, it's easier to move around in and still provides protection, and it might seem weaker only to us... Take real life for example, in the past people used to wear mail armor, and now use kevlar vests... Lightweight protection.

It's the same reason that modern soldiers don't wear suits of armor. Full suits are heavy and cumbersome. Plus, suits of armor get very hot. Suits of armor were really only worn more as weaponry improved. As some point, though, high-speed projectiles (i.e> the gun) made suits of armor completely useless. The knights and samurai weren't fast or stealthy enough to fight enemies with guns, and the armor didn't provide enough protection. With the advent of modern materials, soldiers began wearing flak vests and then individual body armor. It is lighter and provides roughly the same level of protection against projectiles as a full suit of armor.

Full suits of armor have a more impressive look, but until Iron Man armor is invented, we're stuck with the vests.

ye but armor protected you from swords, not from firearms so there was no need for it
where as fodder still have kunais and shuriken like when they wore the armor

I like uchiha robes. Madara should ditch that armour and fight like true uchiha

You notice the samurai all use kenjutsu and all wear armor. Because they always fight up close. Notice most ninja use mid to long range jutsu or favor speed. Hence the lightweight vest. Why do you think the Akimichi clan rocks armor? They all get up close and in their opponents face. Plus ninja usually fight other ninja. Fodder typically use shuriken and kunai. The vests are designed to stop projectiles.
