Aren't Naruto games boring?

It's just going through story-mode to unlock all the characters and then fighting. It's boring.

You can't create characters and movesets, it's just laziness. Is it possible to let the creators know that upping the graphics because the console is nex-gen won't fix everything? Apparently a new game is coming out, but it's going to be boring like all the others.

Anyone else got a difference of opinion?

The Naruto/Boruto Shinobi Striker looks awesome.

OT: yeah the story was cool, but the customization was lackluster, and can be beat in one playthrough.

I wish they made an open world game like skyrim where you make a character and go through missions to ultimately become a hokage and you can also customize your moves and jutsus

I mean, what you described is the textbook definition of a fighting game...

I think what you're issue is, is that there really hasn't been a Naruto RPG yet. Only fighting games—which makes sense, given the source material. I have virtually no issues with the Storm games (as those are the games Im assuming you're indirectly referencing), as a matter of fact Storm 3 is in my top 3 favorite Naruto games of all time. I never cared for the idea of a Naruto open world/RPG game, though thats likely because there hasn't ever been one so I don't know how that would realistically play. For me the highlight of any Naruto game is reliving the story by playing through it. I never got to play Storm 1 when it came out because I was a 360 gamer, but when Storm 2 came out I was in f*cking paradise, and Storm 3 only improved on the mechanics and the storytelling (though I am still salty about the ending of Storm 3). Storm 4 had potential, but they dropped the ball on the story mode big time by using lazy as shit anime stills for the cutscenes. I completely understand though if people don't like the combat in the Storm games; the combat clearly wasn't the focus. But for the most part they had solid story modes, which again is all I care(d) about.

If you are looking for a good combat system in a Naruto game though, I highly recommend Broken Bonds. Its a 360 title, so you may not have the hardware, but its probably my #1 favorite Naruto game at the moment, as its about the closest thing to an open world RPG we have currently. I don't exactly recall there being much in customization but the fighting mechanics are top notch/intricate and it is indeed something of an open world environment. I sincerely hope that after CC2 finished up their last Naruto titles, that Ubisoft can take the property back and continue what they started with Rise of a Ninja and Broken Bonds.

That'd be nice, but little kids just want to fight. By the time they get older they'll see the error of their ways and regret being a little kid.

I've played almost all Naruto games and I did like the openness of broken bonds. Traveling through the trees and what not.

Yeah, that was a real blast. Imagine what they could do with those mechanics now with current hardware and with the current world/material of Naruto.

You want a game like skyrim or WoW? the only game Naruto game that comes close to that description is it's free to play.

Storm Generations was fun with the bros, but after that I lost interest.

I'll play a MMORPG Naruto game, but I'm not interested in spamming Naruto fighting games.

The online play is pretty engaging. I mean, if you're the overly competitive type. Get chu a mic and headset, gg.

you mean #anylongrangefighterssolo

Lol that Inferno Style: Fire Ball Jutsu solos everything. And Sasuke, Itachi, Naruto, Minato, Nagato and Neji beat all that long range nonsense.

I enjoy the Storm games, but after I get the Platinum, I can't play too long at one time because boredom. I'll play like 5 online matches and then stop. I'm not good (I used to be), but I'm not bad either. Also, I can't really play with family or friends too much because they really suck and aren't into it enough for me to get competitive.

The story, graphics, and mechanics are really nice but an actual open world (not the thin free roam they have now)/rpg game would be really cool.

Yea, but the fire ball Sasuke has is big and relatively unescapable. Trumps all ninjutsu, and as you know deflects all ninja tools and projectiles.
