I read that thread of yours in the Q&S section and I'm all in for a Japan related section, I might not post in it but I'll be sure to check it out every now and then.
It sounds very interesting and is very welcome. I hope mods reconsider and give it a chance.
Tbh I don't see why we can have a sports section and not a section dedicated to the country that most of us admire and that brings us mangas, like the one we read and discuss in Narutobase.

With exposure comes interest.
There wouldn't be enough interest in GFX without the GFX section and the GFX contests...
even if there is not enough interest right now it can be created with Japan related threads and discussions.

but yeah, as I said, any knowledge about Japan interests me. Especially interested in how life in Japan is like and the language ^_^

Yes I am I love the culture and the seasons I love it so much, I'm going to Tsukuba University in 2(and a bit) years (Japanese term/semester times are different to Europe ). I can't wait Especially to see the cherry blossoms bloom ^^

It could be troublesome, but most of the time I think the host families are actually good at English, so there shouldn't really be too much trouble.
That's really unfortunate! I love languages and think its fun, so maybe you should place German in its own category(hard to learn) and Japanese in its own(fun to learn =DD)?xd

Yeah, we had a project in school where we worked with some students in a school in Japan. Our teachers told us to talk really slowly and articulate the shit outta our speeches!

I find the history of Japan to be really interesting, as well as other aspects of the culture. Japanese architecure I like as well. I did attempt to learn the language...but it was kind of hard so I kind of gave up. I feel bad about it now though.

It just makes me sad that if I ever go there I would be somewhat restricted in what I could eat as I'm allergic to rice.
