Hey there!
I'm just researching about the interest in Japan here on NB, in its culture, tradition and history!
I'll add a poll, so I'll want you guys to answer either yes or no, but know what it is you're voting for.
What I mean with that is, we all have an interest in Naruto, it's a manga hence Japanese, but my inquiry reaches beyond that. I'm asking: Do you have an interest in its culture, not only that which is displayed in Naruto, but in general, as it is in real life, its traditions? Maybe even history? Would you want to learn more about it, talk about it?

This is what the poll is about and the thread, essentially.

A thing I would also want to know about is; are you interested in Japanese(language)?

Ooooor is your interest centred to what you see in manga and anime, read in light novels, entirely?
Please leave explanations as to why, have you any!

Nope , I am a sushi addict :zise:
Aah, I never quite got to eating it and now I won't as I'm vegetarian, but the tofu is really tasty!
Anyway, there's a lot more than just sushi and if you like Chinese food you'll like at least some of the Japanese, as Japan got much inspiration from the, just look at the buns!

Japan is amazing, the culture, the people and the language. Been there once and I still think about it every single day. If you want a life time experience, travel to Japan!

Some places you really have to visit: Arashiyama, Nara, Kyoto (temple visiting), Mt. Fuji, Tokyo (Akihabara, Shibuya (and Starbucks :D, Takeshita Street).

Japan has a lot things to offer and someday I'll travel there but too bad I can't speak or at least understand Japanese.. :(
It does!
I'm sure you can learn it if you put some time into it! ;)
Watching the anime you at least recognise some words and as for me, I understand more Japanese after having watched it.
To be honest, I think Japanese comedy has been a bit off of the spotlight actually.
Do you know what silent library is?
It's originally something done by the guys you see in the video. There are American version of it, but these were the creators of it and you should only know what more these guys cooks up! They have tons of funny stuff! And not only them!
They're called 'Gaki no Tsukai' btw, with additional guests.
I'm studying Japanese at a university now so of course I'm interested in the country :)
I'll be doing that shortly as well! I can't wait to get started actually!
Ok, so you only want your manga/anime is it?

... You're making me and I bet many others SUUUUUUPER jealous I bet!xdxd
Ah, I'd love to go there, and if I had the money, I'd watch a comedy show I love(be there in the audience I mean)!
Do many Japanese people speak English ? .. as I want to live there but I will die :lmao:
They do, but in my experience, unless it's a stereotype and the ones I actually did interact with were a special case; they're not THAT good, in general. There are always exceptions, and many tell of how quickly you'll learn the language when that's the only thing you're forced to speak(being in Japan), except pantomime!xd
I don't think you would have much difficulty.

Anime, Games, Dir en grey.. And umm.. That's it? Oh, The women are pretty.

Chinese food >>>>>> Japanese.
I would love to argue about food.... But I afraid I haven't had much Japanese... :T_T:

Shinjuku, for example, is a veeeery well known place in Tokyo, as is Shibuya, Akihabara etc. these places even I know about, not having even been there.. I'm so jealous. I'll make note of those places in my planing!
