Honestly? I would take it. Because even if I take it to the police they'll keep it, believe me. My cousin worked as a cop in training and whenever someone brought in a found item they took it for themselves.

THIS, is different, and I had the same once. Not a purse, but a bag. With diapers. And a wallet, with some money.... I mean... how can you keep that? So I dropped it of at a police station.

What I thought too, mad money left in a bag randomly is way too suspicious for me, I'd walk away without looking twice... money like that, how do I know it's not some kind of ransom drop off or a deal with some nasty people?

I would place an ad where i found it for "Money found, contact me at *** *** **** and then the person would have to tell me how much money they lost, and what it was packaged in. If the person got it right, then i would return it. I would give at least a month, for the person to claim their money. If nobody claimed it properly, then i would put half in the bank for intrest, and then would spend a quarter, on stuff i want, and a quarter on some charity, or charitible thing.

This is the truthful way i would deal with it. For all i knew, it could be the last remains of some old persons savings, which they withdrew, for some critcal operation, or for safe keeping. Anything over 100 dollars, i would certainly try to find its owner. Less money, is not even practicle to try to find the owner.

I'm a honest guy. But I'll lie to escape/ avoid certain scenarios from time to time.

In this case, I'd return the mulla to it's rightful owner. Then maybe expect him/her to pay me back with some of it
