We see how unhappy and stressed a lot of rich people are.Yet we still strive for the materialistic thing, because maybe, just maybe, we won't be unhappy like them when we have everything. We're different right?
Once when I was 13 years old I was in a third world country village. In that village we didn't have internet or the luxury we have now. The weird thing is that I was as happy there with so little as I am now with so much. I would go out on little adventures with the village folk, fishing, hunting animals, exploring the forest. Walking for a long time through places and meeting friendly animals on the road.Getting some excitement when a dog would chase me. Jumping on stranger's carriages to get to my destination quicker. Playing football in a field with my uncles and the village boys. Sleeping in tall watchtowers.
What I have realized even a while back is that the experiences we have outside of or "rooms" and off the internet are things we reminisce about and remember so clearly. I have over a thousand hours spent on video games yet If you asked me to tell you a story about a moment, I would have to think so hard and with such muddied memories.
What do you think about the way you live, do you think going down your current path, will lead you to what you truly want? Or should we stop now and realize that our current "happiness" is based on perception and standards
A man once a slave is now content with just freedom.
A man once a millionaire is now unhappy being a middle class citizen.
