i said we're not all ruled by belief systems.emphasis on systems.hmmmm..
elaborate on what you tag as 'reality' for a sec because i'm a bit lost on what 'reality' is to you--is it scientific data, acknowledging that we should be "free flowing spirits" and not be bogged down by beliefs themselves? non-beliefs? you've piqued my interest. it sounds like you're sort of a naturalist and an analytical thinker above all else? (yes, i know you have a distaste for labels but it's easier to simplify and see where you're coming from by doing this - i.e. categorical thinking. you can't be nothing, or you'll confuse my brain, etc. everyone holds onto something even if it's not religion) like, i don't really understand this part so you're gonna have to show me since i'd rly like to know
and, no, the world isn't ruled by religion - i agree. however, it's pretty ingrained in humanity and across various cultures, no? much like anything else is depending on whatever society we happen to examine, imo. that's what i was pinpointing
and i believe we are 'ruled' by belief systems - which are extremely diverse (look at this thread), mind you. such as moral codes, philosophies (like the one you're currently showing and the one i happen to show myself! or my blatant confusion), religion itself, etc. and it doesn't just apply to religion, i agree there. there's really no limit on this since there's an overwhelming amount of views in this world that we happen to carry (and some overlap, such as ethics and religion for the religious, or some views ruled distinctly by a moral code that's entirely separate from the typical philosophies and religions).
all of the above paragraph is why i don't think we're built to be exceptionally rational beings (or else we'd wake up and carve out any belief system that world's ever seen and get rid of, you know, binary thinking), which is why i believe we frequently hold categorical positions no matter how hard we try to get out of that narrow mindset (i mean, i see where you're coming from, and i find myself getting miffed about it myself. but this is just my conclusion since the brain has so many complex processes we've yet to grasp, although there are some answers)
so what does the world revolve around for you? one thing or many? and what would those things happen to be? acceptance? strong ethics? go go go
Pretty simple, really. no ideology or a bunch of verbiage needed. And no you won't be confused.
What happened, is what happened. What is, is what is...no ego or ideology added to it.After all, it's not some belief system...
ha..."go go go"...you're such an adorable show off.
