While parents and culture play a large role in early formation of our beliefs and understanding of how the world works, I believe there is an innate part of human nature that wants to believe there is something greater than ourselves. If gods are man-made, then at some point humans still began believing, correct? If you travel far enough back there was a beginning to spiritual/religious development that was not influenced by previous generations.

When you look at the totality and complexity of the universe, the possibility for multiverses, different dimensional space, etc., it is easy for the greatest minds to posit that there could something big out there. Also we as humans are birthed. Our concept of life comes from knowing we were created, and we live in an organic world where everything is created. We have trouble wrapping our heads around unexplained creation. If there is a god, how was it created? How was the universe created? All we have is theory and belief. We live in a time where everything we know is challenged daily.

In a sense yes. A lot of things children learn are taught directly from their parents or learned from observation. Adolescence probably starts people to deter from their prior learnings and to do new things, but that's not always the case.

Parents often feel the need to impose their own lifestyle on their children and think it is "what's best for the child", even if it harms them. Be it the infection with religion, the moms that put make-up on their little children and send them to child-model castings etc. After all, parents are not infallible. They can be idiots like every other human being on this planet.

In my upbringing i've always had the freedom to believe whatever i want in. I think it's wrong by parents to brainwash their children under age of consent but i don't think there's a law about it. Religion doesn't always create harm, its just a way to divide people. Even without it, we'd still find a way to divide ourselves into groups and act like herds anyway. If a kid can't put on their own values that aren't from being brainwashed, maybe it's time to stop. But i guess parents who does that kind of upbringing were in the same shoes..

Pretty much everyone is of the belief of their parents to a certain age then as people get older just adopt ideas of general society. It's true most people have belief of God because how they raised, but for many people it's an internal issue of feeling connected and having a relationship with God in their life. I personally am a believer in God and how I see it, it comes down to how people live today for one people don't even comprehend how to perceive GOD and today people disconnected from people life so your senses constantly distracted to actually truly give actual thought to the issue.

In my case, nah. Even though I was never introduced to religion until I turned 12. My pops didn't bother teaching me so I've picked up from my own or some teachers along the way. I feel glad to have faith in God tbh.
