Iran are majority Shia sect, while Saudi are majority Sunni sect. Iran is more lenient contrary to popular belief. In Saudi women can't drive nor can they go shopping without a male escort. They also can't be in positions of power and when raped are considered to have committed adultery.

Saudi is a highly racist and corrupt state, it was created as means of making some Arabs feel they are important and that being more 'muslim' means being more arab. It promotes the backward arab culture of the past and forcefully tries to fuse it with Islam, they have gone as far as creating religious texts that aren't related to the Quran to support their purposes. Several muslims have fallen for this deception.

The Quran says different but hey this is just my interpretation.

Saudi Arabia is against Iran(Shia vs Sunnis). The US sides with SA due to oil as has been stated. Therefore the US, by extension, is against Iran. That's not to say that Iran is perfect, but the US exaggerates the problems in Iran and understates the issues in Saudi Arabia. It's all akin to a political chess game if you ask me.
