now when you think about it maybe there is still more to the tailed beast story that we don't know.

sage mode and tailed beast similarities advantages
increased physical strength
increased ninjutsu,taijutsu, and genjutsu
also sense chakra around them
reflexes and perception increase
special eyes

gathers too much energy that will make you go berserk and transform

each tailed beast has a unique eye and looks like they have there own type of sage mode so the tailed beast are really just the other sage mode variations like raccon,tiger,turtle,ape,ram,slug,bug,octopus,and fox.

now if that was true then i would see why it would be possible for naruto to be able to fuse abilites of the nine tails fox and frog sage mode together and be so scary to nagato that naruto can resist nagato's rinnegan from close range.(also the ten tails looks like it's suppose to be like every animal combined.)

the frog,snake, and slug sage mode might just be the sage of six path's first creation of all things being used from his power of the ten tails and maybe the other nine tailed beast were created when he knew he was going to die and really separated all of the ten tails power into those nine tailed beast.

so basically those three sage modes where created from the sage of six path's creation of all things and just portion of the sage of six path's power created the elder sages.
