It seems whenever there's a strong female character in anime, they get downplayed simply because theyre women.

It happen with Tier Harribel,Kaguya,Nelliel,Erza,Tsunade,Saya,etc

Like despite feats Showing how strong they are they still get downplayed and people act like theyre weak.

There's really no explanation for it. The only reason that c9omes to mind is some people just dont accept a woman as being strong lmao. which is pretty sad.

They just aren't power fantasies for many of the NB crowd, that's all that decides this kind of anime fan's favs.

It doesn't help when the mangaka humiliates them with pandering fanservice or tries to invalidate them as male-dependant princesses. Tsunade, Maka Albarn, Sarada, Edward from Bebop and every woman from FMA are some of my favourite fictional characters ever despite their medium.

Most of the popular anime are male-centric I guess that contributes to it. Female characters in attack on titan are treated as equals to their male counterpart (they all die the same), same thing FMA and a couple of anime/manga.

This is true. It's not all anime. Mainly just Shonen. They have tropes that their females need to adhere to otherwise the authors would never get them published. Everyone you mentioned Don't carry the Shonen brand that I'm aware of. Does Akame Ga Kill? I don't know about this one. If it is a Shonen this manga would be the exception.

Also forgot about Claymore. But they too are not Shonen.

Your right they are mainly shonen, I'm not sure about akame ga kill but I'm pretty sure it's not a shonen jump manga, so you have a point

Stop watching popular stuff. There's great animes where the female characters are just as badass as the males. You could also watch animes where most of the characters are females.
