Are people aware that almost the entire Naruto storyline is Japanese folktale?

Almost every successful story, Movie, manga, etc is based off of someting much older. These are references and inspirations that the authors make their story from. Same old tale yes, but the originality comes in how it is told.

Kishi didn't rip off anything. He did what all good authors do/ Used history/mythology to tell a tale of his own.

Yep, yin and yang gaining power from a god. Two childhood friends torn down separate paths, forced to meet and fight at the end to stop the war. Each with a different crest marked on their hand. One female friend forced to watch them torn apart, and who seemed to have feelings for Jowy and always playfully beat up the Hero and had a hot temper (execution scene lol).

That screams Naruto but it's not Japanese myth.

Oh and we can't forget Sasuke of the hidden shinobi village in the game or the Leaf Academy!

He didnt rip everything from folklores, but he got almost all of his ideas from other material. Thats tragic. And i dont care if other mangas also do it, then they are as unoriginal as Naruto. All those storylines are entirely different than naruto's storyline. Kishi only took a few names and a few concepts from them. But what else did u expect from a manga that is about ninjas.......Kishi included Japanese themes in it since it is based on ninjas and ninjas are japanese!!
Even the concept of Indra and ashura taken from Indian mythology is entirely different!!
Also almost all the mangas based on Japanese themes take some concepts from japanese folktales.....there is nothing wrong in that. Did you know how many concepts the author of Magi has taken from the arabian nights and from other Arabian holy scriptures??
All the characters, their names, their roles, even the concept of Rukh or Ruh matches so much that it can be easily pointed out by even some noob!!
Don't be so judge-mental....if kishi had taken too much content from those folktales, no one in Japan would buy it and it would have been cancelled soon enough. You must already know how hard it is for Mangakas to keep their mangas running!! U_U

Lol another idiot who doesn't know the definiton of "steal". I suggest finding an online dictionary and searching up the term. You might want to search up the word "inspire" as well. This is why Kishi's manga is great. The amount of mythology he incorporates into his work is astounding.

Kishi aint that original if you think that, if you do enough research you see that Kishi stole almost eveything he has written from ancient japanese folktales or other manga/anime or buddhist books, and alot from shinto religion. The only impressive thing is his manga drawing skills. Thats all.

I respect him for bringing these folktales to manga form, but i do not respect him as a writer at all. Beacause he is the most unoriginal writer i know of.

Examples of what he stole is:
The entire Legendary sennin story with Jiraiya, Tsunade & Orochimaru
Susanoo
Sharingan
Kurama/tailed beasts
Izanami/Izanagi
etc etc etc
