As Shikaku said, "Legends of the distance past are often exagerated." Are they really?

I mean, take the Gold and Silver brothers for example. They were said to be really strong, strong enough to have the 2nd hokage at the verge of death. But during the war, they get easily beaten by Ino-Shika-Cho. Dont get me wrong, the three are strong, but strong enough to beat the Gold and Silver brothers?

I mean, if all of these legends are really that strong, why does Kishi troll us and have them easily defeated? Just like the Akatsuki,- they were said to be very strong shinobi, but some were just defeated stupidly, even though we wanted to see more of them.

So, are legends actually exgerated?

yes I guess plot no jutsu has an effect but these legends usually have some truth and falsity to them it's like playing a game of telephone and trying to keep the same message-it never works because someone always has there own way of telling it so it gets warped into lies with some truth xd

Well this is a manga/anime. That means it's probably going to have a happy ending. I can't really think of any anime that doesn't have a positive result in the end (but then there's Pokemon where Ash is gonna be 10 for the rest of the show and he'll probably never catch them all or become a champion). Usually that's just the way it is, you can't have all the villains run shit until a strong hero emerges. I mean Kakuzu was doing really well and it makes sense, the guy fought Hashirama and lived but the Naruto defeated him.

The Gold and Silver Brother's and all the other Edo's are in fact legends so why is it that all of them have been taken out (besides Madara and probably Mu) and none of the main characters have died? Maybe the current generation has in fact surpassed the older generation (looks extremely unlikely) and there's a reason these legends are dead in the first place; must've lost to someone in order to die.

Im fine with some people in the current generation surpassing the older ones, but there are boundries. Like, Naruto- He's faster then the raikage, and his dad- Whose said to be the fastest shinobi ever- and now Naruto is faster? Too much :/ Also the fact that Naruto didn't get beat sensless by Tobi's geto mazo,- which really is dumb, seeing as how thats a incredibly powerful move. Kishi the troll.
