Thread title might be weird, but I'm talking about both of them wanting to follow in Naruto or Sasuke's footsteps.
But we both know that Naruto/Sasuke, while have important duties, aren't the most efficient in what they do.
For instance, Naruto made a lot promises, we aren't sure if he kept to it (EX - Fixing the Hyuuga system, or changing Amegakure). We know that Naruto brought peace between the Five Villages, but Kishimoto let both Hokage's (Naruto & Kakashi) keep Orochimaru alive, and well, he's immortal.
For the most part Naruto's Hokage rule can be seen as a giant babysitter. He is the main key to everything, he is the reason why the Villages are together, he is the reason why peace exists. But we do see later that Kawaki comes out of nowhere and attacks the Village. Once again proving Kishimoto shits on the Hokage title.
Sarada is going to be the Hokage in the distant future, she'll either become a bland Hokage like Naruto, being its babysitter without really accomplishing anything other than temporary peace between the 5 Villages. I doubt if Kishimoto didn't let Naruto change anything drastic, that the will allow Sarada to.

Sasuke's entire role in all of this has been to track Otsutsuki, and protect Naruto in the shadows. For the most part his mission was complete ass up until the Boruto Movie, no need for large explanations. Let's just admit that and move on. Boruto unlike Sasuke, has no way of traveling dimensions. So even if they wrote up Boruto wanting to protect the Village, outside of the Village, he literally can't do shit. Even Sasuke couldn't locate the Otsutsuki until he physically met them, and before they attacked Naruto, they took out Killer Bee and the Hachibi. Imagine what would happen to the world if Boruto is supposed to be protecting it from the shadows. Utter failure.

I've been thinking about for a while, but I think Kishimoto is going to shit on both of them really hard because they aren't Naruto or Sasuke. Naruto was destined to bring peace, and he's hit a curb. Sarada isn't destined to bring peace, so what is she going to do? Do you see the Kakashi Hokage-ness here? Useless.
It's even more hilarious for Boruto because unlike Sarada, his occupation is protecting her. So really he's just doing what Sasuke does, without really protecting the World. I mean discount Kawaki v Boruto -- Since Sarada isn't the Hokage, he most likely won't be saving people in the darkness because he has no way of traveling to distant dimensions.
I think it would even worse for Boruto/Sarada if Kishimoto/Ukyo turn them into characters who become 'busy' parents and never have time for their children. Add them being discount Naruto/Sasuke but worse adults, imagine if they become even shittier parents.
Now you can believe that this won't happen, but look how Kishimoto self inserted himself into Naruto/Sasuke. And look at them now :lol
