Anime are supposed to be free and i guess you're right about the manga but still these Kabuto flashbacks are killing me. But Kabuto are some people's favorite so I guess its alright. I wouldnt want anyone complaining about my favorite character, Itachi's flashbacks

why must kishi waste our time showing boring life stories, im tired of reading the manga and read about life stories of ninjas people dont care about, kabuto is important in the war but idc about his life story, why dont he show us the life story of the uchiha clan from madara point of view, why dont he show us the battle between madara and hashirama, why dont he show us interesting shit like that. no he showing boring shit about kabuto and his lame past, who cares about that really

kishimoto most likely does this for pathos or some sort of emotional appeal; he wants us to understand the character, why he/she does what they do. he wants us to connect to the characters. C'mon man, he is a writer/artist, it's his job to do these things. stories aren't always about the non-stop fighting or continuous story progression, it's not a "waste of time" only you can make it a waste of time if you don't appreciate it.
