He is often called an idiot (along with other less kind names) for the behavior he often shows in fights he is in. He is, however, to be noted for his high levels of analytical skills and decision-making skills he applies to his battles. As Lei, however, he loses all traces of his former self, becoming only a shell of who he originally was. He begins to finally exhibit those trademark characteristics of the clan: murderous, vicious, and insanely psycho. His fighting style even changed from care-free, long-ranged planned battling to quick, brutal in-your-face fighting.

History:
Satomi was born in the outskirts of Konoha to two former experts of war and bloodlust, who were traveling hermits since they were exiled by their clan. He is the cousin of Kimimaro, whom hates Satomi due to the fact that Satomi’s father betrayed the clan prior to its downfall, which is the reason that Satomi and his family were exiled by the Clan’s leaders. He grew up with his father outside of the Leaf village after his mom died at birth. He was named after his grandfather in the hopes that he would be a great, serious and honorable ninja like him; however he later changed his name to the name of his father in his quest for power. After time had past, it became clear that Satomi would be a great shinobi but he was too playful and goofy. He would rather sit and read books than fight, which he did several times while training with his father.
His father than took him to the Hidden Mist Village Academy to attempt to make him ‘hone in’ on his natural-born killer instincts that Satomi had no will to use. Upon graduating from the academy and passing the Chuunin exams, he supposedly retired from being a ninja, stating that his new passion in life was to be an author, which greatly angered his father. In actuality, he never gave up his life of a ninja, but instead chose to work behind the scene against the hidden leaf village after learning from his father that his mother was murdered at Satomi’s birth and they (Satomi and his father) were being hunted down and attempted to be killed, which is why they had to leave.
That is why he helped Orochimaru attack the village, thinking that by having Orochimaru as Hokage, he and his father could get the revenge they needed from the Leaf Village. At the time, he never noticed the path he was heading down as he helped Orochimaru, becoming the very thing that led to his clan’s downfall. During this time, Orochimaru noted that he had a Kekkei Genkei, Shikotsumyaku. During his time with Orochimaru, Satomi’s skills with his Kekkei Genkei became exceptionally great and he bragged about how he, his father, and cousin Kimimaro were the last of their clan but he was the strongest. This made Oro want his body even more, so Oro did several experiments on him, increasing his chakra control by enhancing his brain’s reaction to adrenaline. After the failed invasion, Orochimaru tried to take Satomi’s weakened body, but his father interfered and was gravely harmed by Orochimaru. Angered by this happening and his leader’s betrayal, Satomi attempts to murder Orochimaru but is overpowered by him. At the moment Oro is about to strike and apply the seal to him, Orochimaru’s body mysteriously seems to freeze up and he gets in agonizing pain. Kabuto and he then disappeared in a streak of fire. Satomi then crawls over to his father, who finally tells him the truth about what happened: Satomi’s father and uncle, Kimimaro’s dad, were the ones to destroy the clan because of what they became and he [Satomi’s dad] then killed Kimimaro’s dad because he wanted to be the ultimate Kaguya. Devastated and disgusted by what his father did, Satomi used his bones to decapitate his father.
Heartbroken, spirit-crushed, and betrayed by his own father, he realized that his father may have killed his mother at birth and planned to do the same to him over time. He then travels back to the leaf village where he allows the ANBU to arrest him and take him to the Hokage, Tsunade. He then tells her the story and pleads for her to understand and let him go. Tsunade agrees and Satomi is set free. Danzo, on the other hand, openly disagrees and makes it a point to say that this will be the downfall of the Leaf, weak people such as Tsunade as Hokage. Satomi begins to help fix the village back to its former glory. Many people did not want him to return and get off so freely for helping Orochimaru, but Tsunade dismissed it since he came back to help the village but still, the fact that people wanted him gone made him depressed and not want to stay but he felt he needed a better reason to leave. He later leaves and becomes a correspondent for Akatsuki after overhearing a meeting of Danzo and the Village Elders speaking about when they ordered Itachi to kill the clan and how they should track down the remanding members of the Kaguya clan down. Realizing that he wasn’t the only on around, he quickly flees from the Village again for a rogue group that could help him gather info that he needed to find his clan members. Akatsuki serves him poorly as the other members of his clan had went into deep hiding and the only one seen recently was Kimimaro, a year ago. He later left Akatsuki after learning the true intentions of Madara/Tobi. He begins to travel around the world as a missing-nin before being approached by Orochimaru again. He then fights against Oro, who later tells Satomi that he, Satomi, is the only remanding member of the Kaguya clan as the Leaf had ordered the murder of Kimimaro. He makes a deal with Satomi to train him and help destroy konoha…again as long as he can help him regain feeling in his arm and let him experiment on him again. Satomi, outraged once more at the leaf for all of their treacherous deeds, allies with Orochimaru and sets out to find someone to replace Oro’s body with. He finds a weird psycho-path named Karen, who could sense Chakra. He brings her to Orochimaru, who tells her that he needs her powers to find an old friend. Satomi begins to wonder how many more that Oro lied to in order to use them and their powers and wonders if he did the same to him. However, Oro stands true to his promise to give Satomi more power so he dismisses the thought.
He continues to train with Oro until Oro sends him on a mission. After getting back, he finds the temple in ruins and a patient Oro experimented on tells Satomi that Sasuke did it and killed Orochimaru. Satomi then vows to get revenge against Sasuke for killing his master but later realizes that he wished to kill Orochimaru himself.
He then sets out to travel the world and becomes a bounty hunter and mercenary under the alias of Lei Kung, his father’s name who he now wishes to honor. At this point of his life, the person known as Satomi is lost forever. He has been consumed by Lei Kaguya now. He then begins to collect bounty on escaped prisoners and missing-nin. One day, he receives a note from someone claiming to be the former Mizukage and said he would pay handsomely for the murder of Itachi Uchiha, saying that it has to do with Sasuke Uchiha. He used his former influence within Akatsuki to get close to Itachi and drug him. After Itachi realized what had happened, a fight ensued. A passerby, who happened to be from the Leaf Village, noticed the way Lei fought and how he rushed in familiar to a way she had seen before. When he used his Kekkei Genkei, she immediately knew who he was and called the Hokage and let her know they had spotted Satomi in the Rain village fighting Itachi. Tsunade quickly dispatched a squad of Anbu after him and Itachi, to bring Sasuke back. Once the squad arrived, Lei was no where to be found and neither was Itachi. Lei had feigned death at the hands of Itachi’s Sharingan and escaped when Itachi wasn’t looking. He then leaves ashamed at how he was easily defeated.
He then goes into a self-induced seclusion before appearing in the Cloud Village. Lei then challenged the Raikage when he was at on a stroll at the Village’s borders by himself. After barely killing him, Lei used the face-stealing jutsu he learned from Oro to steal the Raikage’s face and assume the position of Raikage of the Cloud Village, enabling that he would be able to learn some of the greatest Lightning Jutsu ever, becoming like a second coming of Orochimaru in a quest to learn all jutsu. Lei is currently on his way to the 5 Kage’s Summit, disguised as the Raikage, which serves him well as he wishes to have a good chance to destroy the new Hokage.
