There's still gotta be a difference between unexpected deaths and actively harming the narrative. Like Armin's future potential and everything he'd obvs and could've brought to the series through dynamic or twist the mangaka has thrown in the trash. The series can be brutal like GoT or TTGL but those series aren't like, self-destructive in their character deaths.

when armin started talking about "We're gonna see that ocean no matter what, i promise", I was like, "noooooooooooooo". you dont say that, its like a summon for death. youre in a war with giants being over confident, but it was sad. overall for the greater good though and if they end up surviving, Armin will be a legend from all hes done in this war
