I know what you mean, I always have that forboding feeling that something is going to happen to one of my favorite characters. I think the beast titan is nothing more than another unique variant. Reiner's titan is armored, Bertolts is huge, the beast titan is just hairy and intelligent and can transform others. I think he may be a shifter who is the leader/founder of the shifter village and has not been inside the walls since their creation (thus he didn't know about the gear).

I'll politely disagree. While 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and Attack on Titan are both political based, ASOIAF is simply a masterpiece. It is our generations epic tale, equivalent to being alive as Tolkien wrote his epics. It holds no character safe, and is flawlessly interwoven to not have a single main character or view point, but many different ones. For anyone who hasn't read these books, I implore you to purchase them immediately and get started. However, this isn't to say AOT isn't a fantastic read. In all honesty, its certainly one of my favorite manga out. I think the way it displays the political corruption, to the extent of using the military to attack other branches of the military, is a frightening mirror to a piece of humanity that we often times wish to not see.

I think the Beast Titan may be the dude from "Before the Fall". 3DMG did not exist in his time, and iirc the Beast Titan did not attack humans. There has to be a reason for "Before the Fall" being written.
