Maybe kaguya in her gedo form was the only thing stablilizing chakra on earth and since shes sealed in her core dimension now its affecting the earthlings byakugan and space curvature?

What if he knew the attack was coming and someone from Kara helped him escape?

Alternatively, hiding underground and spamming rotation might have somehow protected him from some of the damage. We do not know where exactly the HQ was in that blast. This is just wishful thinking, but it is not 100% unbelievable.

But i find the Kara scenario perfectly likely.

Last issue it was revealed that he survived. He lost like his arm and a leg but got it replaced with mech. That one scientist dude who gave Boruto that Jutsu bracelet in the movie made Ao’s prosthetics.

Apparently Ao’s an agent of Kara (the new Akatsuki) now.

I don’t believe in the theory first off, BUT, ao would make sense as he’s the only non konoha person with a byakugan(which the boruto story is more about so far) and if the theories of kara being involved with ootsutsukis are true, the whole byakugan thing makes some sense

Ah! That must be it! Plus, that jutsu she uses rips people apart, so that must be what happened to his body. It makes a little TOO much sense.

What if Mabui sent him off with her heavenly transition jutsu before the Bijuudama could hit and that's how he lost an arm and a leg. He'd only have survived because someone from Kara would've stepped in and helped him...

I mean, its not perfect. Her jutsu would've crushed him rather than having him lose a leg or an arm, but that still makes more sense than anything else the manga will probably give us.

I agree, but even this is kinda asspull-ish. Like he somehow has the durability to not be completely torn apart and be dead on the other side.
