Kenjutsu (Sword Techiques) are techniques that utilize a sword to fight. Kenjutsu is used by both samurai and shinobi. Kenjutsu attacks can be enhanced but flowing chakra into them. Wind and lightning chakra increase the sharpness of the blade, and lightning chakra in the sword can also be used to paralyze the target or numb their body. A sword, when used with fire chakra can be used to burn the opponent. Kenjutsu is mostly used by the samurai of the Land of Iron who use only kenjutsu to fight. Samurai are known to be very skilled at kenjutsu, however there are many shinobi who are skilled with kenjutsu.

Chakra flow can be used in combination with kenjutsu by putting chakra into the bottom of the blade and flowing it throughout the sword. This increases the power of sword attacks and can increase the cuttiing ability of the sword.

Futon chakra can be used to increase the sharpness of a blade. As shown by Asuma, a small blade infused with wind chakra can pierce through solid rock.
Raiton chakra can be used to increase a blade's sharpness, similar to wind chakra. As shown by Sasuke, lightning chakra infused into a sword can also be used to produce a numbing effect in the opponent's body
Katon chakra can be used to cover a blade in fire, giving it the ability to burn the opponent as well as cut them.
I don't know what Doton chakra does to a sword, I don't remember seeing it in the series. But I think earth chakra could increase the hardness of a sword, similar to Kakuzu's Doton body hardening jutsu.

With Earth Chakra you can shift the weight of the blade to make it harder or lighter
As for Suiton, you can change the blade with good amount of chakra into a water blade and disolve the blade like how Suigetsu does it xD

Ok so welcome to my new Kenjutsu Training system. It was based off of Lili-Chawn and Reborns style of training. In this system you wont perform the techniques but I however expect some questions. So this will be broken down into 3 catergories which are,
-Combo Based Kenjutsu/Simple Kenjutsu
-Chakra Enhanced Kenjutsu
-Character Bound Kenjutsu.
The First One We will start with is Combo Based Kenjutsu, these techniques are very different from Chakra Based, due to the lack of chakra required to perform them. I run up to you and deliver three punches to your face. Then, I unsheathe my katana and slash you twice horizontally aross your chest.
After doing this, I perform a downwards vertical slash on your shoulder, cutting it. Then, I use my blade to slice your left arm. Then, I attack your collarbone with a horizontal slice. I finish by holding my sword with both hands, and with all my might, deliver a powerful slash to your chest that deals a lot of damage.
Continuing my assault, I jump into the air and point my sword downwards. I drop down onto you, my sword drilling into your head.

I unsheathe my sword and dash in front of you. While holding my sword from the blade, I whack you across the face with the sword handle. I then kick you hard in the stomach multiple times, causing you to bend over. I then stand in front of you and lift my leg up violently, kicking you and sending you flying into the air. Then I punch you several times sending you crashing into a tree.
Then I take my sword and slash the tree horizontally five times multiple times, slicing it in half and making it fall on you.
After doing this I pick you up and take out a tanto. I hold it out in front of me and spin around, slicing you several times.

I run up to you with my sword in my hand. I slash you once on your left leg and then once on our chest. I continue by slashing at your head and neck. After doing this, I finish off with a powerful slash. Then I punch you a few times in your face and slice you twice with my sword, knocking you over. Then I jump into the air and point my sword downwards. When I land, my sword stabs into your heart, killing you.

Chakra Enhanced Kenjutsu Lesson! Now this is a special lesson in the sesión of Kenjutsu these itechniques are actually using chakra involved in them. This can range from the infusion of elemental chakra, most commonly Lighting and or Wind Release. Now in this lesson we will be also discussing the aspect of chakra flow and how chakra flow can effect Kenjutsu and what each element and raw chakra can do in this situation.
Chakra Flow: Chakra Flow to both the flowing of chakra through an object as well as any technique that increases the potency of a weapon by flowing chakra through it. Usually, elemental chakra is used to flow through bladed weapons in order to either dramatically increase their various pre-existing properties or to gain additional advantageous effects. The user must be touching the tool to initiate chakra flow, but direct contact with the weapon is not necessary to maintain chakra flow.
Now that’s the basic aspect of chakra flow , its simply to enchance or change the properties of a weapon more or less speaking a katana or nodochi etc etc.
Now here is a breakdown of each element and how they can affect the sword:
Fire chakra engulfs the sword in intense localised flames, which follow the subsequent path of the object in question, incinerating anything which comes into direct contact.
Earth chakra seemingly increases the defensive power of an object to its utmost limits, by further reinforcing the inherent properties of the material involved. This can also be done to increase or decrease the weight of the weapon which can make the blade faster in the aspect of lighting it but also makes it weaker, and making it heavy which decreases the speed but increases the power.
Lightning chakra, as applied to weapons, provides an increased cutting power similar to that of wind, with the addition of inducing numbness. However, this is instead achieved by inducing high-frequency vibrations within the object.
Wind is primarly the same to Lighting if you ask me, but according to Asuma, is used in order to increase the sharpness of bladed weapons, so much so that in the hands of an experienced user even small blades are capable of piercing substantial rocks easily, leading to his assertion that this chakra is unparalleled offensively in close and mid-ranged fights.
Water is pretty much the only one left out but as you may seen when Suigetsu uses his sword, he can change the properties down with his Hydration technique
Raw Chakra is basically the main foundation of this as it can pretty much do all the stuff above besides the Earth Chakra. How ever where most don’t Raw chakra can be manipulated to form new wepons more or less speaking the Samurai of the Land of Iron are experts in this art as they have created the art of the Samurai Sabre which can do a lot of many things though I wont get into detail about it(Only for Samurai Training).
Now here is the list of the Chakra Enchanced Kenjutsu Techiques, pick 2 from this list, and one from the combo list, and create a great combo:

Description: This technique is unique to samurai, which employs the concept of chakra flow techniques similar to the flying sparrow and Kusanagi: Chidori katana. Through the use of chakra flow the user channels their chakra through their swords his extends the reach and the cutting ability of the blade, and also allows the user to fire crescents of chakra whenever the blade is swung. This released chakra is capable of great destruction as shown from how it destroyed a stone pillar. The samurai have also shown the ability to use shape transformation, as they can form their chakra blades into giant buzz saws, broad swords, spiked shafts, and axes. Description: This technique is unique to samurai, which employs the concept of chakra flow techniques similar to the flying sparrow and Kusanagi: Chidori katana. This released chakra is capable of great destruction as shown from how it destroyed a stone pillar. The samurai have also shown the ability to use shape transformation, as they can form their chakra blades into giant buzz saws, broad swords, spiked shafts, and axes.
