This was a nice thread. The usual Aoba theory is he is an Uchiha. Itachi actually knows crow summoning though. Maybe Itachi could've copied the genjutsu with his sharingan or maybe he taught it to Aoba.

Glad to see you agree with me. After the end of the war, expect the real Jiraiya, Naruto, Itachi, and Danzo to emerge and bring Aoba with them to a brothel in the Western Nations.
