Well, I started with the manga first and apart the great characters and the nice exorcism approach with nice backdrops, the first thing that stuck me was the number of manga chapters.

The anime comes weekly and manga almost monthly (one chapter usually = one episode), with that in mind, I knew that at a given time there'll be load of fillers.

But now, it's no more really fillers that the anime is proposing. Their "fillers episodes" are actually proposing quite some far information and new things from the manga. just like FMA or Death Note, it's quite deviating from the actual manga to go through a whole new plot in fact.

This is by no means lame fillers like in Naruto or Bleach but really interesting episodes with excellent graphics and pretty good storyline.

Well, with that, in mind as much as I love both, I must admit I don't like the fast approach that the anime is taking - as things like Rin getting better control over his flames, Yukio possibility of becoming a demon ect... were only hinted or talked at a later stage in the manga and here they are presenting it much before and actually even adding new elements to it. The manga got quite close to the end of its 2nd arc by now and the anime fillers are actually becoming different from the manga track.

So, what do you think of the 'deviating approach' of the anime and which one do you prefer - Anime or Manga?

I agree with this one a bit though there are some other parts where I prefer the manga approach.

Well, it could but I'm also wondering. The anime is really accelerating things - an some of it are a little to rushed-up though.
I love the anime graphics and the funny fillers are really funny but modifying the manga plot isn't easy to digest for me especially since the manga is really good too.

Manga all the way. I don't like how the anime strays, and maybe it's just because I started the manga first and imagined the characters in my own way, but I don't like their voices... ._.

Hmmmm... It's true there's the difference between the two, but that is how it gets when they decide to start animation on a manga which hasn't reached very far, it's an unfortunate decision for the authors and the fans. Sure, the anime plot isn't all that bad, but I'd actually rather see an anime following the manga plot as FMA Brotherhood did.
Also, didn't the DN anime follow the manga plot exactly as it was?xd

Oh, forgot to put it in clear text, I prefer the manga if I had to choose, but I would avoid comparing the two as they really could only do as best they could with the small amount of ch the anime had from the manga.

The anime ended. There's not more in the future (at least that I know of) and it decided to end with 25 episodes, sort of like Pandora Hearts or Vampire Knight; even through the mangas are ongoing, the anime ended with 25/26 episodes.

There won't be any anime because the whole thing was changed. Shiemi accepted Rin inmediately, instead of being scared. Her whole character development as regards her friendship with Rin in the Kyoto arc was erased from the anime. It's a pity, but I think there won't be any more anime. Unless they make the same that happened with FMA and the anime is a complete different story from the manga, which I sincerely doubt since they stopped airing tha anime altogether.

I wouldn't lime if they repeated the FMA thing though. Sure, FMA was good, but when you compare it with Brotherhood (the actual manga story) you see a huge difference. Same thing happens with the manga and filler anime here. You see the fights in the Kyoto arc, then Rin and Yukio transforming into a phoenix or something like that in the anime and... sincerely, which do you prefer? I'm going with the manga, I would love if they keep airing the anime following the manga though...

Actually, I've been doing some thinking 'bout this one, I'd say it is quite like a phoenix, isn't it?

Meet Okumura Rin from ANE
You must be registered for see images

And Marco the phoenix from One Piece
You must be registered for see images

A coincidence? Or??

Edit: It would be nice if they did another version of ANE, based on the manga plot this time. It would have to wait for the chapters to accumulate a bit, but I'd definitely watch it!

It's probably a coincidence, they came out practically at the same time if I'm not mistaken...

I would like another version of the anime, what I don't want is them to continue the actual anime that's been airing so far... it's too late for that now. Not all animes get all their manga animated like One Piece, FMA, Naruto, etc... like in the examples I mentioned (Pandora Hearts and Vampire Knight). Or they can turn filler and never finish the manga storyline, like Soul Eater or Shugo Chara. I hate when both of those happen :(

Exceptions to this rule exist though. The best example is Fairy Tail. It was meant to finish after the Oracion Seis arc, but it became inmensly popular in Japan and they decided to keep airing it... so, who knows...

I know it's "coincidence"xd Just pointing it out for the fun of it~

Continuing the actual anime plot would be pushing for viewers I think, and it would be hard to continue it, they'd have to make up completely new stuff.

Fairy Tail is truly an exception, but since the manga was such a hit, I'd expected it to air at least in a similar way like Naruto, Bleach or OP, following the manga plot and airing as long as the manga. So it's good it did, it's a good series IMO.
