One time I was like 9 years old or some shit. I was sleeping in bed. It's just me my mom and her boyfriend and I think my little sister. And I wake up randomly during the middle of the night. I can't move or do shit. I was literally paralyzed and the only thing working was my brain. I look up and I see this dark figure standing beside my bed. I tried to move so badly but I couldn't. It was scary as shit. I couldn't move or anything I thought I was gonna die. And it had a shotgun too. I don't remember what happened but I think I woke up.

Scary shit man :(

And apparently its not just me lots of other people experience it.

I had sleep paralysis once but thankfully I realized what it was about 5 seconds in and calmed down, so it wasn't too bad.

Yeah, during Sleep Paralysis, your brain retains projections of your dreams but while completely awake, having those shadows appear and making you clean your sheets. I've had shadows stepping over my doorway and lean over the entire height of my ceiling to look down at me.

The dark figure with a hood is actually seen by a quite a few people. Many people have had different experiences, I once saw it in a garden.

Nah, but I felt hugged from behind. It got tighter and tighter with fuqing scary breaths in my neck. This was the scariest moment I've ever experienced.

Iv head sleep paralysis but iv learnt how to prevent them along with most bad dreams. The number 1 rule is to not sleep on your back. Iv noticed every single time I had a sleep paralysis episode it was on my back. 70% my nightmares are on my back so I don't sleep on it anymore and I don't get them.

this is also known as projective catalepsy, in this state of mind you can project your conscience beyond the body and have out of body experiences and ludic dreams as well. But most people get scared, urges to wake up, and end up going back to body.

It can be explained as a state in which your body is awake but your consciousness/mind/soul is still elsewhere.

I tried a lot of times to induce this state with meditation, and is quite easy. Sometimes what you eat over the position you sleep affect it, although with meditation is easier to have sleep paralysis.

I've seen several "shadows" when in a state of catalepsy, but I never felt scared or anything.

I had one a week ago. First one ever.

All my while, i have mostly slept on my back and this one time i slept on my chest in a bit of stiff position.

Even I saw that black figure that everyone's mentioning only that it was a jump scare like in the movies.
I was tried to move my limited vision around the room and that thing came up right up on me from the left side.

Definitely terrifying.
