Anyone saw the Assasin Creed movie?

Why would you get your expectations up for a deep detailed story from a video game movie?

I loved the movie. I've said this before, but many people complaining about it were prejudiced. Movie adaptations of games have a bad reputation, so even long before trailers of the movie were released, the project already got criticized, which in return poisoned the minds of the people who were hesitant about whether they should watch it or not instead of giving it the benefit of the doubt.
The acting performances were outstanding, the special effects amazing and the plot was overall seen decent. You need to be realistic here, it's quite hard to condense the story of a lengthy game franchise into a single movie and honestly speaking I wouldn't say that many games have an elaborate plot line to begin with. After all the primary reason you play a game is to play a game, not to be mesmerized by the story. Personally I think if you get the essence of the games into the movie, you did a decent a job and that's what they did for AC. The only thing I think they could have done a better, was providing a more original background for the main character.
In my opinion it was better done than Warcraft.
