Anyone know some good minecraft mods?

I've been playing minecraft for a while but it's losing it's touch slowly. I'm just looking for some good mods to use in single player. Right now the only fun mod I have right now is the latest version of Mo' Creatures. I want someone who used their mods hands first and had fun with them. So please just name some good mods that I can look into and maybe download then try out. ^.^
