So, for whoever knows and worked around with virtualbox, I need your wisdom.

I was trying to run Mac OS X 10.8 on my Windows 8 PC with virtualbox, and always get stuck at this after using Hackboot1

NOTE:After whatever is happening in the image occurs, I get a black screen.
You must be registered for see images

I have read there is an issue with Haswell processors, as that Mac OS X 10.8 was made to run on Ivy bridge and previous generations. I read somewhere that you can mask the CPUID, but I have no idea how to do that.

Please help ;-;

It's more than likely in the packages of the installer of the Operating System to only run if the system uses a certain kind of processor in the list.

Even if you try to edit it, you could just run into even more issues than you need to begin with as different processors will definitely perform operations differently. In any case, if you really want it, find out where the list of the processors are kept within the installation application and add in your processor, then try it again.

It's incredibly difficult, but I've seen it done before.

I don't think it's very easily possible to mask your CPUID, but it's pretty easy to just add in the processor into the list.

I understand what you are saying, it is "possible" but with all the possible errors, bugs, and just overal instability its not really worth it but if your doing something just to do it, i would suggest the forums on overclockers, linuxtechtips, tomshardware, and other specialty tech related forums because they will probably have a sticky on how to accomplish what thread maker is looking for.

I'm actually running mac OS X 10.8, 10.9, and 10.10 in vmware workstation....I don't have much experience with virtualbox, but you may do better finding a preconfigured virtual machine and import it into virtualbox. You could also try using vmware player, which is a free version of workstation... Best luck with your vm!
