Him being human is what makes batman stand out. He proves that a man can become a symbol and doesn't need superpowers to do so.

He knows he's mortal and has disadvantages against all the super-villains he faces, yet he still puts his life on the line for the sake of others. He devoted his life to the cause and faces trials and tribulations that other superheroes don't.

Because of that he inspires others to be like him. No matter how impossible it seems, a man with a will of steel and courage can make the impossible possible.

That's why he's such a great character and that's why other characters respect him.

Understandable, I find Batman himself boring and really only interested in his villains. I recommend the Punisher or Daredevil, they are are more way more interesting vigilantes imo!

Try to write a good character with consistent development for close to 80 years. Things are bound to get a little murky, different people have different ideas as to what makes a good story. Batman as a character is an embodiment of the human spirit and Willpower, which is why despite being a human the character of Batman is allowed to overpower characters that seem insurmountable.

To your one point though, no matter how much you disagree with the portrayal Batman is a non super-powered hero, he may be super-human but he isn't super-powered. There is a difference super-humans can go above and beyond the limits of natural people while super-powered means enhanced abilities. Batman never got any boost to his physical abilities through any other means than training.
