Anybody that plays, knows how to play, or used to play Yu-Gi-Oh! before?

After losing my kickass deck more than 10 years ago i was very disappointed and stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh! for good, the new cards didn't interest me neither ever since. But now, even though Yu-Gi-Oh! isn't nearly as popular as it was back in the day, if not dead lol, i want to recreate my old deck the best i can, maybe for nostalgia reasons? Idk. I never thought i'd buy a single card again and here i am. I have no idea how to play Yu-GiOh! or what the rules are, and how many of the same of card i'm aloud in a deck, like how many of the same trap/ spell/ normal monster/ effect monster etc. Could someone out there help me out?

I still have my cards from the original,GX,and 5D seasons. I believe that in official games its 40 cards max. But when i was younger , me and my friends just went all out

I feel you though. I didnt like it when they started adding all that new shit, just made the game.more complex

If it was that long ago I am presuming you were interested in Yugioh back in the good old days of the Original Yugioh or Yugioh GX (trust me, the franchise went down-hill after that).

Forget about reading the rules or something like that. In your situation the most fun thing to do is play the game on a console - the best brand that is loyal to the old-school card game is the 'Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force' series.

If you have a PSP any one will do, if not then get a PS2 simulator on your PC and play the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force Evolution.

I used to play it a lot.
But today I just have three Yugi-decks as collectables. Exodia, the Egyptian Gods and all the other iconic cards of Yugi are in there. They are placed in a golden box inside my shelf, just for the memories.

The reason why I stopped playing it, is simple. The game became too complex, making it boring to me.
Like.. the blue-eyes white dragon was supposed to be one of the strongest cards.. but today he is just weak. There are thousands of effect-monster (which were a lot cooler when they still were rare) as well as this synchro, xyz and pendulum crap. Until the "GX-Generation" it was fine, but after that, it went downhill very quickly if you ask me.

Ohhh yes! xD
Thank you for remembering me. I used to play "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force Evolution" all day long on my PS2, it was the best Yugioh-experience ever. A cool story-mode with your own character, what could possibly be better?

That and the Dualist of the Roses (ok this one is a sort of weird mix between chess and Yugioh) were the best Yugioh console game experiences I've had too.

Those 3 Yugi decks alone are like 800+ bucks nowadays.

I lost my original deck many years ago. I once lost them as a kid and dreamt about finding them again. The next day my sister found it after having been lost for more than a year. The only decks I have today are in DN, it'd be useless to keep a physical deck these days anyway. Who is looking forward to the Yugioh movie this year?

And its not useless. Ever heard about tournaments? Even if u dont have them its nice to have.

I for one, retired from it but still collected the decks I wanted. Wanna keep the memories man...

I disagree. 5Ds beat GX in every possible way and stands next to the original even beating it in certain points.

As for the game its more complex than ever and a lot more dynamic.

I have the memories imprinted on my heart and my brain. I wish I still had my original deck but there is nothing I'd do with it even if I found it. Also I've never played in a tournament, have no clue where those are set and if I'd even go. I always get my ass kicked in DN by newbs so I wouldn't stand a chance in a tournament, especially with all the new decks that people use. I'm only interested in playing original/gx decks.

Get YGOPRO

It's free and you can play online against other players. You have access all cards ever made and you can create as many decks as you want. It's really helpful and fun. I still play it even though I haven't bought a Yugioh card since the 7th grade.

Don't know, maybe the really old editions. I bought them for 45€ in a collectors edition last year.
Exodia, the Egyptian Gods, Black Luster Soldier etc. lost their worth since they are printed in big masses now.

Not really. If hes talking about Yugi's Legendary Decks you can get them all for 40 bucks total.
Yep, that's what I bought. Also "she". Thanks. :p
