Anybody else miss this?

I am re-watching the Original Naruto and I couldn't help but make this thread.

Does anybody else miss the old Ninja tactics and tools used? Like Trip Wires, Shuriken with wires to catch opponents.
Kunai Paper bombs etc. It really made the old Ninja feel to the anime. Also made characters look smart.

What are your views on this? Do you think these should be used more in the War? Would it be better?

I missed characters getting hit with kunais, and thinking they got killed when instead they used a substitution jutsu... the good old ninja days.

Yeah I agree, but I more agree not just characters substitutions, but actual characters litterly getting nearly killed by Kunai. Now its all Dodge dodge, power ups and such :|

ever since shippuden..what are these ninja tools you speak of? Oh, you mean those silly little toys tenten still plays with? those were so 10 years ago. Eye implants and DNA infusions are whats hip. And just about any one can do it.

Agreed, strategy and tactical fights is exactly what is needed. Laying Traps, using tools to your advantage. Tired of Powerups

I remember how Shikamaru outsmarted Temari in the chuunin, that was so cool.
Not to mention the old battles of Sasuke and Oro in Forest of Death or later both Naruto and Sasuke vs. Gaara.
Or Rock Lee vs. Gaara.

Those were examples of implications of powers but also tactics, using strategies, so on and so forth.
Everyone's power had a limit...
But now, as I said, they're all powerhouses, while others are... well, nothing.

Totally agree, usually shinobis with unique abilities where rare, now its like a jutsu convention....soon they will make jutsu where ninjas can travel the universe....that got instanttransmission down....i smell a dbz fanboy kishi lol

Hmm, as far as I remember, those were Uchiha strings. The only ones I saw using them were Sasuke and kakashi. Both related to Uchihas.

Though you are right, they could've used that and bam, a lot easier. I understand that up to a certain point that it's plot-wise but still... it's too far-fetched, really.
