Any suggestions when it's coming to buying new manga ?

I was quickly and for a few minutes in my local store today in which there was a hell lots of books and I noticed Manga section as I was after it to have a quick look what's there. I saw Naruto, couple more Mangas and Death Note. Since Death Note is on my anime list which I want to watch and I'm not going to read Manga from which I'm actually watched Anime (Naruto etc), I have decided that I will go for something new which I either didn't watched or read yet. I have grabbed one of the volumes of a Death Note Black Edition and rewound few pages and I must say that the drawings impressed me (more than those from Naruto anyway) as well as quality of book overally. Is Death Note a good Manga in which I can invest some money and have fun with pleasure reading it or rather would you recommend something else ? My another question is how many volumes does Death Note has ? I read somewhere it's 13 and also from which side of book do you read Manga since I have couple of volumes from Naruto and it's still confuses me :dunno:.

I highly recommend One Piece. It has everything; adventure, every-day conflicts, and, in my opinion, it depicts the human mind perfectly.

For your other question, yes, the Death Note manga is pretty good, but it has its ups and downs, like most stories. I'd say it's a good buy. As far as I know, it has up to 12 volumes, but don't take my word for it. Actually, I have no idea how many volumes there are.

Death Note was spoiled to me big time and I still loved it.

Don't buy something you're not truly a fan of, read it online first then make your decision, buying something out of the blue is stupid IMO. Death Note is alright, I prefer Monster when it comes to that department, so your choice.

For Death Note there are 6 volumes, going by the black edition. It's a good place to start a collection. I've seen em around too but I prefer the anime to the manga.
