Hey everybody! Now, I'm not a hardcore Pokemon fan, but I do love the games (have since I was a child) and I do know that they're more than what they seem on the surface. I recently watched a video on the timeline of the Pokemon games, and it's something that I surprisingly found to be quite good. I would like to share it with all of those who care, and after you watch, please continue to read and then discuss.
I know the guy's accent may be a bit off-putting for some of you at first, but the video doesn't suffer from it, I promise.
I know this discussion might have to be redone soon with X and Y coming out soon and all, but I found this an interesting topic. After having watched the video, what about the other games? I'm personally most intrigued by where Colosseum and Gale of Darkness fit into the story, along with the Ranger games. Now we know that technology doesn't really mean much in the world of Pokemon, and it can easily be different in varying regions. I mean, look at Kanto and Hoenn. Hoenn has way better technology but the evidence is there to support the theory of both games taking place at the same time. This leads me to Colosseum in an interesting way. The environment in that game throughout the Orre region was for this most part very barren, and your method of transport isn't all that advanced either. So at first I thought: "Well, maybe it takes place before all of the handheld games." but then I thought about the technology in some of the cities and hubs in the game, and second guessed myself on that previous thought. However, I then recalled the Kanto/Hoenn situation, and thought that there would be no real way to determine ESPECIALLY that title's place in the timeline unless it has a direct reference to another title like the other games. What do you guys think?

So basically it's
Kanto/Hoenn
then
Johto/Sinnoh
then
Unova (twice)
Kanto/Hoenn
then
Johto/Sinnoh
then
Unova (twice)
