Sorry to correct you, sir, but you mistake me for a fool. As I've said before, I know that I will experience hell. I do not think that I will graduate with flying colors or whatnot.

I entered the military with a pretty good knowledge of the military, boot camp, etc. I had particular parts of Full Metal Jacket memorized (since early childhood), and knew it was only the tip of the iceberg.

While I had cub and boyscout leaders who were more intense and degrading than my group of RDCs (what the Navy calls DIs) - it was still a relatively shocking experience.

It wasn't until much later, however, that I saw Marines at Camp Pendleton throwing each other over their backs and -running- up a hill with at least a 50 degree slope (possibly more) that I realized just -how- different the branches were, with the words: "Thank God those ****s are on our side!"

Yes; I will be going to San Diego. I'm glad to hear that it's tougher than Parris Island. Do you think that is because females go to PI only that it's easier?

Two words: The. Reaper.

While you guys will be sprinting through mountain scapes; the people at Paris Island will be running around an abandoned air base.

You'll get plenty of opportunities to see just how short-changed Paris Island recruits were during MCT. If you feel like being an entrepreneur about it - there is good money to be made when the kids at Paris Island encounter the harsh landscapes of Camp Pendleton and are given little time to train their bodies to make up for the difference.

No disrespect to women or anything, but that's likely the case.

You'll encounter two types of girls in the military. Those who work; and those who come with a blast radius. I've yet to encounter a female in the military who has not figured out how to survive in a male-dominated environment (only her moral compass determines exactly what that entales)... but there are those who don't at least make the honest effort to do their job, and like to wag their tails for those with more chevrons.

My recommendation is to ensure you're at the minimum safe distance from those types of females. They are usually pretty easy to spot. If you see a PFC trying to delegate to other PFCs like she's a sergeant - then that gives you an idea that she's the type with a blast radius (and there is currently a sergeant caught within it).

Some girls with a blast radius are area-effect (they get involved with the whole shop/platoon) - others are more precise in who they try to bring down with them.

Appreciate the ones without a blast radius.

I cannot wait to transform. I'm a decent person as of now, yet I will be a person worthy of praise and admiration once I graduate from boot.

Bootcamp is a path; a process you've chosen to go through. It structures what you're made of, more so than changes what/who you are.

By the way, what the heck is "Kill Hat"?

Oh, now why would I spoil that surprise? :p

Haha! I'm sure it was. I'm so looking forward to that. It's gonna be one of the rewards of enduring boot camp.

Alright, man. Just making sure. I'd hate to see someone join the military and hate it, especially when he/she had better options.
Hell yeah. I'm gonna become reach somewhat high because I know that I will make a fine Marine. Plus, once I achieve a four-year degree, I will automatically be promoted to an officer. Well, I shouldn't be thinking that far ahead just yet. LOL. Gotta worry about boot camp first.
What are your goals? (I won't reply until later tonight because I'm getting ready for my shift at crappy McDonald's)
Nah, I need something tough to whoop me into work Lol, I am sure boot camp will be fine for you, just remember to picture your 'end game'... even if that is just making it through boot camp lol.

I am in the IT side of things and part of what I want to do is join the Navy as a Communications and Information systems specialist, sounds like good path to me :D.

Plus, on a side note, never be ashamed you work at McD's, at least you work for your living, I know some people who rely on their parents money all the time. Also, my best friend works at McD's and he gets me cheaper burgers! Lol
