Sectarian jihadist group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility Sunday for a bomb blast that killed 23 people at a crowded bazaar in a predominantly Shiite area of Pakistan's northwestern tribal region.

The hardline Sunni organisation said they had planted an IED (improvised electronic device) at the Eidgah used-clothes market in Parachinar city in retaliation for Shiite support of Iran and Bashar al-Assad.

"We warn the Shiite parents that if they don't stop their children from participating in the war of Bashar al-Assad, they would face more attacks like this," Ali Bin Sufiyan, believed to be a spokesman for Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, said in a message to the media.

The guy even openly said why they did something horrible as this. This was not even at a political demonstration about their support of Esad & Iran, this was In a bazaar, where people probably came for shopping for their families and have a little break. They targeted for no other reason that their belief and where they stay.

......A borrowed "cause" ...

Still in name of religion/sect it becomes first priority, while causes and links with local culture, nationality, neighbors, everything is secondary or non existent. Thus a conflict which started more than 1400 years ago in middle east is still alive and taking it's toll in Pakistan just like in the land of origin of the conflict.

Atheists have a point when they say religion is necessary for men the same way a bicycle is necessary for a fish.
