It was clearly stated before that one who has mastered both Uchiha AND Senju DNA can use Izanagi.


But I guess the theories posted here make sense.

The Senju DNA was merely necessary in order to make full use of the technique, not gain the initial access to it I think.

I know right and Itachi also said that uchihas were spamming them but we there are only 2 eyes and 1 izanagi costs a eye so how was they able to spam them?

When someone masters it perfectly, the eye will only shut down temporarily, like Tobi. But if someone like Danzo, who hasn't mastered it, will lose it for ever.

My brain is so slow at understanding anything so I must admit, these last chapters have confused me to no end. I really hope when Kishi Sensei reveals more it's simple to understand xd But what if Tobi said was true for the Ninja's who aren't Uchiha? Read the panel in my main post. Tobi clearly states that it can only be used by someone w/Uchiha and Senju DNA.

hmmm i read a thread earlier saying that because the uchiha and senju orignally came from the SO6P so uchiha must have some of the dna anyways, the reason danzo needed senju dna might of been because he was never one of the clans in the first place, same with tobi

Well I think it depends. During Madara's time the senju and uchiha fought all the time. There were bodies of senju and uchiha, so it really won't be hard to find senju DNA during that time.

The only people who used izanagi are not even
Uchiha. I know Danzo wasn't but idk about Tobi.

It all comes down to whether the Elder and Younger sons shared DNA pertaining to Uchiha and Senju, because one got all of the Doujutsu and the other got all of the "body."

This is from a post I posted in another thread:

Izanagi is a Yin/Yang element technique. Which means that you need the Yin and Yang release to perform a Izanagi.

• Spiritual Energy is the basis if Yin Chakra
• Physical Energy is the Basis of Yang Chakra

• The Uchiha's inherited Spiritual Energy (Yin Chakra) from the SO6P
• The Senju's inherited Physical Energy (Yang Chakra) from the SO6P

What Senju DNA does is that it gives the user the ability to produce Yang Chakra. Uchiha's have Yin release but they dont have the Yang release thats needed to perform Yin/Yang release jutsu's. And thats why they'll add Senju DNA to themselves.

Believe me, I wish Izanagi didn't need Senju DNA(Yang release) because I have another theory that falls apart because this little thing. My gut leans towards what you believe. But!...then there's this:

[Edit]On top of all of this, Senju DNA also seems to augment some jutsu's in certain ways.

Hashirama's DNA seems to be the best Senju DNA around. A-grade Senju DNA if you will. This could be because his attributes resemble those of the original Senju ancestor the most. Maybe the same counts for Madara. Madara definitely has the best Uchiha DNA around.
