Hopefully the databook will clarify, but Kishi never gave a thorough explanation on the six paths of pain.

The third databook wasn't too sure on its orgins either.

If the six paths of pain are a rinnegan technique only, then why would sharingans be used as much as the rinnegan for this technique?

Even the outerpath chains:

Sharingan being used for an outer path/rinnegan technique?

What do you think?

Having 1 Rinnegan gave Obito access to the Outer Path. The Six Paths of Pain merely mirror the eyes of the caster, which is 1 Rinnegan + 1 Sharingan in Obito's case; it is still cast solely by the Rinnegan.

How the fuck can the Sharingan use Rinnegan techniques? That makes no sense at all.

The sharingan can't use outer path chains. Obito was simply controlling the bijuu with both the rinnegan and sharingan. Rinnegan to control their chakra and keep them in his six paths of pain bodies and the sharingan to subdue the minds of the bijuu

As for the sharingan eyes being copied on the six paths of pein corpses, this is because the rinnegan can create copies of the users eyes so the vision between the outer path and what ever they are controlling can be linked. This is seen in the animal path summonings, the summons don't have the true rinnegan but a copy that is linked to the rinnegan of the outer path.

That's my question...

How was the sharingan part of the shared vision

If it was just a reflection of chakra (which I agree), how was it part of the shared vision?

Unless your saying they only shared through one eye?
