Another Minato And Sage mode Question Thread

Ok. Remember during the Pain arc when Minato first appeared in Naruto. He told him he's been watching everything thats been going on correct? Meaning he seen Naruto go sage mode against the 6pop.

So why would he be so surprised when Naruto went sage against Obito? He knew Naruto could do it before.
