Your threads are interesting me.
Is that sun/moon cooperation?Real happiness?

I was thinking about Orochimaru and his "shinagawa" , and I thought about that:

Uzumaki clan leader have a "shinagawa" , he is a Yorimashi.
A yorimashi(shinto) is the same thing as a jinchuriki in Naruto.
Nothing shocking there cause Uzumaki are the inventors of the Jinchuriki seal.

Orochimaru , Uzumaki and the rikudou brothers!

The great question now , who invented those shinto seals?
Awesome find brother. This is really great. Even the Uzumaki elder (the one parallel to Hashirama) wears it.

There is obviously a big connection, I think. Orochimaru, Uzumaki and the three origins (Kaguya and her sons) - There is some connection. I'm Sure. :)

Another great thread my friend!
Orochimaru being a Yorimashi would perfectly fit to his character and goals.
He himself represents the boundary between a kami and a mortal, since he is able to die (we saw it in the fight against itachi) and on the other hand has an "imperfect immortality, because he can be revived or extend his lifespan through his hosts.

Also another connection to the Uzumaki Clan hagoromo and kaguya which fits well to my thread.
I really think we are on the right way. These hints can't be coincidences they fit too good toghether!

You really deserve your sleep :win:

Thank you so much. Even I think we people; you, me and davidou are onto something because all our observations seem to automatically support each other. I really think there are many more surprises to come. :D

I didn't sleep after I posted this. I couldn't.

Is Orochimaru's shinegawa a part of the setup of Orochimaru's reincarnation jutsu?
Does Oro's hotes need to have a shinegawa?
Is that why Sasuke is wearing one?
Or does Sasuke know that?

When Oro leaves Konoha he has the uniform , when he came back to fight Hiruzen , he had this priest style and had "reincarnated oro style" into a woman.

Good connection. I had a strong feeling those ropes meant something when I was reading the manga, but I couldn't think of a connection and moved on. Nice thread.

I just sorta picturing a thread almost exactly like this one, only authored by someone living in Japan and read by Japanese readers, getting worked up and excited over all the Christian references in their favorite American series. Or getting totally excited over stories that are derived from classic Western fairy tales like for example Cinderella and whatnot. You know, stuff that is usually just ordinary or taken for granted in the culture where the series originates.

You never know how much of this was the result of lots of research, or whether it's stuff people just grow up with. It seems new and fresh to the rest of us who have never seen these things so it's kind of like a new discovery.

That is what's bugging me, Orochimaru introduced Shimenawa as a standard uniform for the elite Sound Nin. Does that mean they are suitable for his ritual? As we see, the Sound Ninja 5 and Sasuke had Shimenawa too. Can't seem to find anything else on this. Orochimaru is really a genius if that were the case.

I really do get your point! The fact is that Kishi is from Japan where only two native religions exist, Buddhism and Shinto.

The fact is that it is for us to notice references with regard to the story because then they make sense. Just getting worked up with a religious reference is not that intelligent, I guess.

Nice find, I would like to add that the act of donning the Shinigami Mask in order to possess the user is also a Yorishiro called Kamigakari aka Kami Possession:

Oh, wow. Even that was done by Orochimaru (who already wears a shimenawa). Every evidence is pointing to Orochimaru having something more up his sleeve.

P.S. - That proud moment when legendary users comment on your thread and even rep you. Thank you Sir Derp. :)

I don't know if someone pointed this out but look at the Mountains where Hagoromo and his brother are standing and sealing the Juubi and then look at the picture below. I just saw this and thought I should share.

Also, Orochimaru has used these ropes as a uniform for himself and his village since years, dunno why.

UPDATE : Midnight here, will look more into this tomorrow. :)

UPDATE 2 :
So, thanks to a few people pissing me off, I decided to read and learn tonight itself. (Thank you for ruining my morning run tomorrow.)

Here goes,

The rope is called a Shimenawa and the Paper Strips (Triangles) are called Shide but that isn't important here.

What's important is that Shimenawa is tied around any naturally existing object to convert it into a Shrine and invite Kami (God, Good luck etc). This object is called Yorishiro.

Shimenawa is the boundary or separation between Kami and Mortals. It separates God from Mortals.

Common Yorishiro are,
• Trees
• Rocks - Iwakura and Iwasaka (e.g. Izanami and Izanagi rocks i.e. Meoto Iwa)
• Swords
• Mirrors
• Magatama
• Persons – Yorimashi

OBSERVATIONS
• The juubi was God Tree before but since it changed form, we dont see any Shimenawa on it.
• The rocks having Shimenawa and Shide indicates them being used for the sealing ritual. (Speculation)
• Orochimaru wanted to reach perfection thus believed himself to be separate from the others. He considered himself a Yorimashi and believed he could attract Kami. As I said, Shimenawa indicates separation between Kami and Mortals.
That's all I could dig. Sleepy *yawn* Good night guys.

It almost want to look like this image..

Maybe the other people like Ninja sound 5 had those ropes so Orochimaru can be revived through them, because they had the curse seals?
Also Sasuke brought Orochimaru back to life, so there is another connection between them.

IDK :S but this indeed is a nice legit find :)

Actually that was exactly what davidou and I concluded, the ropes may be for the reviving ritual.

Thank you for appreciating and reading. :)
