which do you prefer? I haven't started the war arc yet and i need opinions please, is the anime properly budgeted and are the fights/soundtracks good or should i not wait for the episodes and just read the manga

manga for me. I never watched the anime, so I can't tell. but then again, I never watch anime in the first place.

Anime is better because characters are moving and speaking and the plot in better shown in that way (from my point of view).

Actually i think the Anime does a much better job for naruto at least..
First off the Anime goes into much more depth with the fights then the Manga.. not only is it much better seeing it in action the add things too keep the flow of the fight going .. or create a much better sense of action .. Unlike the Manga that continuously stops and starts with talking and pauses,
Another reason is the Dialogue now this could be the specific translation i use but the dialogue sounds childish at times almost like Kishi is barley putting in any effort to make logical sentences, not to mention that the dialogue really does not do its best to establish personality and character.. whist the Anime is the complete opposite at times .yes at times the characters sound silly but all in all its much better
The last reason is actually the story .. Believe it or not but i personally rather enjoy the flashbacks (the ones that youve never seen before. not ones to past arcs) They add story too the villains and heroes .. Like Sasori's for example .. Or Haku's and Kimimaro's
The only thing "bad" about the anime is the fillers and even those are actually rather good. Because if you look at it each filler ( in shippuden) Up to the pain arc focuses on a character thats soon to die .. Asuma and the grave hunters, Ututaka and the Hotaru arc, The guren arc was just pretty damn creative .. Of course this excludes the dreaded History of Konoha arc ..
All this and i watch english dub which i think is much better then sub .. but that is an argument for another time
