Animations of Naruto

Why do people say that the animations in Naruto are bad? I for one don't see any difference between the episodes, and honestly I think the animation looks badass. If you think the animations are terrible, what makes them terrible?

What makes the animation terrible is when Lee is closing Neji's eyes he takes away Neji's eyebrows.

I didn't mind that - I thought it was pretty cool. The only time that I think the animators were on something (you know what I mean) was when the nine-tails rampage on Konoha looked like it was animated using oil paint...

Animation has been consistent for most of shippuden. It's the artwork that bugs me a little. Pre-shippuden and it's early arcs had some of the best artwork for characters, backgrounds, etc, and could very well pass off as good to great stills. Now, the color palette of the series is limited to grays and browns, kinda bland if you ask me.

Because only about 50% of the episodes are animated by Studio Pierrot, and those are typically the good episodes. Also that stpid Pain screenshot everyone posting was drawn like that on purpose, not because the animator was bad. It was just a poor choice of style that didn't belong in the episode.

The other 50% of the episodes are outsourced to other cheap studios, and like everything else, you get what you pay for.
