If you could make any comparisons to matters in real life to events in Animal Farm, what would they be?

My comparison would have to be the above quote no doubt. It seems pretty self explanitory imo as to why.

I would say it highlights human nature. The pigs(the ones "more equal") started off with good intents. They helped make the place a better place. But then their greed and love of power, began to grow, until they became tyranical. So it can highlight the political system we see.

Also the "rewritting" the past(they rewrote their "rules" to make them better off, and have more power). I see that going on now.

A example is the seperation of church and state( It isnt even in the constitution, just something Thomas Jefferson, mentioned in a letter), is "rewritten" to say that religion cant have anything to do with the government.

In actuality that was meant so the actual CHURCH itself, cannot govern. (ex. The pope cant tell the president what to do) AND that the government cannot set up a "national religion".

Currently it is abused to the point, it INTERFERES with our RIGHT to worship. A sports team cannot say a prayer. A public school cannot have a prayer. If a public school is mostly Christian then a Christian prayer may be said. And if a member of a other religion wants to have a prayer, then they can request it. etc etc.

I got just a bit sidetracked. But those are just some similarities i can thing of off the top of my head.

Have a great night folks.

The whole novel is a mirror of the Russian revolution with the pig "Old Major" representing Karl Marx and some say Lenin as well. The Pig Napoleon is based off Joseph Starlin and Snowball represents Leon Trotsky. The horse is the working classes and the human that Napoleon trades with is Adolf Hitler.

Well as much as it depicts the process of the detrerioration and corruption of a society, let's not forget that originally those animals tried to make something good for everyone. Sometimes even the best intentions take the wrong way.

I'd say we're living in the Brave New World with a small pinch of 1984
