The crystal release is a rare and specialized field of elemental ninjutsu that can create crystal as well as manipulate already-existing crystals and crystalline structures.Crystal Release can crystallize any substance, thus, earth, water, and wood techniques are useless against it.The Crystal Release, though powerful, has two known weaknesses, the first being that it cannot crystallize either raw energy or chakra as they have no physical mass to crystallize, allowing a person with either energy-based jutsu, such lightning, fire, wind, or good chakra control to properly counter it. The second weakness of Crystal Release is that it is susceptible to a specific sound wave frequency; because crystal requires a very precise build-up of molecules, the proper sound waves can break down the build-up before the crystal can properly form.

the crystalization process happens as you exert your chakra into the air it begins to stop the particals of the air moisture from vibrating slowing them down to the speed of that of a solid (barely vibrating) in the anime this is done near enough instantly with the lower rank jutsu guren performs such as the one you have just done, she is also seen completely crystalizing narutos and his toad summons water wind combination as soon as the jutsu came into contact with he chakra

Well they are just like throwing senbons or shurikens but in crystal shape

I run towards u and quickly do handsigns and throw crystal needles or snow flakes at u....

they are more like shuriken in snow flake shape than actual snow flakes

Guren uses this as a primary attack against the 3 tails , she uses this jutsu first maybe as a distraction (assumed logically) and then follows up with a stronger jutsu

for the second jutsu:
as you have already established, is very similar to the hexagonal shuriken jutsu.

with both of these jutsu id use them as a distraction to draw my opponents attention to defending from this attack whilst i attack with another strong and fast jutsu more than likely a lightning technique such as lightning fang attacking from above the opponent

guren uses this after her first encounter with naruto to then track him and see where he was heading to...

personally i would use this ifyou opponent is blocked from sight by a wall or a lid.. it does not work if the opponent is surronded by smoke or mist as stated in the jutsu

as for your combo, thats pritty much the same way id use it but remember the crystal ball has to be held all the time in order for it to work, and the ball must be disposed of, dropped or something to make the user able to make handseals

though this would work well for you combo as after locating the target behind the wall you dont need to use the ball anymore so dropping it at this point wouldnt be a problem just remember to state in fights that you drop the ball before using another jutsu to save controversy

As the blades are strong like normal swords they can be used as a counter attack in taijutsu form
